Baku Marionette Theatre is proud of being involved with promotion of the cultural heritage by great Uzeyir Hajibeyli. A group of our team members has visited his home-museum, and it was one more expression of our deep respect and love to this genius Azerbaijani playwright and composer, conductor and publicist, recognized as the father of Azerbaijani composed classical music and opera.

The international conference "Livable and Sustainable Heritage Cities" worked on 10-13 October being organized by the State Historical-Architectural Reserve "Icherisheher" and the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS). The event’s panel session entitled as "Sustainable Heritage of Cities/monuments: revival of Cultural Environment through Effective Management and Conservation of Monuments" was held at the Baku Marionette Theatre. For the Theatre’s participation in this great event, the Board of Icherisheher awarded our team with their special gratitude certificate.

The second half of September is the time when all over our country they traditionally celebrate the birthday of famous Uzeyir Hajibeyli (1885-1948) – great composer and dramatist, conductor and musicologist, publicist and pedagogue, founder of the modern professional music art of Azerbaijan. Recently, the head of our theatre Tarlan Gorchu and his troupe assist Heyran Gorchu had visited the city of Shusha – the legendary land where little Uzeyir-bey grew up and acquired his first creative sparks that raised him to the peak of artistic genius. During the visit, they succeeded to choose location good for performing of the Baku Marionette Theatre’s show of “Arshin mal alan” by Uzeyir Hajibeyli there in Shusha – the hometown of the great master, in 2024.

A group of top officers of the Administration of the State Historical and Architectural Reserve “Icherisheher” and its subdivisions had visited Shusha on September 2-3. The guests, headed by the mayor of “Icherisheher” Shahin Seyidzadeh, met with the management and staff of the Department of the State Reserve of the city of Shusha. The colleagues exchanged their professional visions and discussed the possibilities of cooperation.
The head of Baku Marionette Theatre Tarlan Gorchu and his troupe assist Heyran Gorchu took part in that trip to Shusha. Here in the native land of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, the great author of the legendary musical of “Arshin Mal Alan”, they succeeded to choose and get preliminary agreement with the local administration about the space supposed for performing of the named above show staged by Baku Marionette Theatre.

Two exhibitions were launched at YARAT Contemporary Art Space on June 8: Aida Mahmudova's solo exhibition "Heaven Can Wait" and the group exhibition "The Seventh Solitude".
The group exhibition brings together the captivating works of a talented ensemble of Azerbaijani artists, including Huseyn Hagverdiyev, Tarlan Gorchu, Orkhan Huseynov, Ramal Kazim, Novruz Mammadov, Faraj Rahmanov, Eltaj Zeynalov, Ismayil Safarali, and Nadir Eminov. This exhibition showcases both commissioned pieces by YARAT and other works created by these artists in recent years. Drawing inspiration from Nietzsche's enigmatic concept of the “Seventh Solitude”, the group exhibition endeavors to connect the fundamental values of modern estrangement, presence, and eternal return within the social context.
An artwork by Tarlan Gorchu displayed at the exhibition is an originally created carpet called by the author "Along the Way of Solitude".
